THE quality of a higher education institute is not just determined by its teaching and research, but also the amount of academic publications printed.
Through its Publishing Division, Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan (KUPU SB) organised a book talk session with the hope of generating a culture of writing and publishing.
The institution, which has published over 60 books, added one more to the list with the release of “The Key Understanding on Tasawuf” by Associate Professor Dr Syamsul Bahri Andi Galigo yesterday.
In her welcome speech, Hajah Tiara binti Haji Basman, Head of Publication at the Centre of Publication of KUPU SB, highlighted that the annual event was organised with the aim of appreciating the writers and publications of KUPU SB.
Apart from being launched, the new book also had its content analysed.
“The book will also be a reference that can be used by KUPU SB students.
“It also coincides with the current demand and need of those seeking to comprehend Tasawuf, its history and origin,” she added.
The event also saw a session chaired by Mohd Muslihuddin Syah bin Haji Mustafa with Dr Haji Sulaiman Ibrahim el-Barruhiy as the speaker.
A discussion and question-and-answer session followed.
The guest of honour was Dr Pengiran Hajah Salmiah binti Pengiran Haji Shahbuddin, Acting Assistant Ra’es of KUPU SB.
