THE Kenali Negara Kitani (KNK) Awareness Presentation was yesterday held at IGS College in Kiulap, delivered by Salinah binti Salleh, a Tourism Officer at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.
The presentation, entitled ‘Explore Brunei Darussalam in Exciting Ways,’ is a campaign introduced by the Tourism Development Department of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources to create greater awareness on the many tourist attractions and activities available in the Sultanate.
The event aims is to promote the KNK campaign and explore places of interest, while increasing local interest in domestic tourism.
The campaign also aims to turn the tourism industry into a key contributor to the country’s economic diversification plan and a major provider of employment and business opportunities.
The KNK campaign comprises three key concepts: Promoting domestic tourism; Awareness of tourism as key industry for the future – in line with the country’s economic diversification drive; Awareness of tourism as a career possibility – The KNK Campaign targets students by highlighting the different interesting and rewarding career options available in tourism, an industry with good prospects and expected to double in size over the next 20 years.
