KJ ELEVEN romped to a 5-1 victory over Al Idrus Junior in a one-sided affair during the NBT FA Cup final at Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex last night.
KJ Eleven turned on the heat in a 38-minute blitz to all but confirm the title before the end of the first-half.
A brace by Mohd Dzuljamal bin Hj Abd Latif and a goal each from Muhd Isa bin Hj Bahar, Muhd Asril bin Kubu and Mohd Hazwan bin Kamal sent them on their way to the title.
Zabidi bin Johari scored what proved to be a consolation five minutes before the break.
Mohd Sufian bin Hj Lamudin, KJ Eleven coach, said their fans, who turned up in large numbers, were a big factor in their victory.
He also said the players complied with the instructions which successfully led to the goals.
“We also practised set-pieces three days before the game,” Mohd Sufian said.
Meanwhile, Mohd Arney Faizul Hj Abu Bakar, Assistant Manager of KJ Eleven, said their training sessions proved worthwhile.
“Our performance tonight exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, our efforts and hard work were all worth it,” he added.
This year’s tournament was organised by the Brunei-Muara District Football Association (PBDBM) in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports and National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD).
