Berlin (dpa) – It’s perfectly normal to want to take a picture of your favourite band when you’re at a concert, but holding up your smartphone is bound to annoy music lovers in the rows behind you. A new iOS app, Kimd, fixes that.
The problem is that a phone display is unnecessarily bright, so Kimd ratchets the screen’s brightness down to quite dark. You still get an acceptable preview of the photo.
It also turns off the flash, which serves no purpose in a concert hall, because a flash can only illuminate objects two or three metres away from the phone. Flashes tend to annoy fellow concert-goers too.
Other than that, the app does everything a normal camera app does; taking photos and videos; allowing people to highlight espec-ially good shots; and sharing them via services like Instagram.
The app is free and works with iOS mobile systems from Version 6 up.
