FORTY undergraduates from Kolej International Graduate Studies (KIGS) who are pursuing their final year in collaboration with Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) left for Kuala Lumpur yesterday to attend the Global Classroom programme, which is part of their three-year degree course.
The participants comprised of students undertaking the Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) and Bachelor of Information Technology (Hons) programmes at KIGS.
The Global Classroom programme was specially designed by LUCT to expose students to global business and cultural environments to help them learn the fundamentals and impact of globalisation across all disciplines.
They will be making industry visits which would enable them to learn the roles and responsibilities of management in various sectors. The workshops will provide a good platform for the KIGS participants to exchange ideas with their peers from LUCT.
The participants will also be given mini projects which would allow them to integrate their knowledge on business and information technology from their experience in Kuala Lumpur.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of KIGS, Pengiran Hajah Fatimah binti PSJ Pengiran Haji Abdul Momin, this is a great opportunity for the undergraduates to get away from their usual academic setting and have experiential learning through the Global Classroom programme.
She added that this kind of activity is needed for the current Bruneian generation to broaden their horizon and experience new culture and environment.
The two-week programme will take place in two venues in West Malaysia, namely at LUCT’s main campus in Cyberjaya as well as at the university’s Malacca campus.
