THE Religious Section, Directorate of Administration of Human Resource, Ministry of Defence yesterday held a Khatam Al-Quran for 40 ABDB Surau Al-Quran Study (M3 AQSA) students at the Berakas Garrison Surau.
The guest of honour was Dato Paduka Awang Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat, Deputy Minister of Defence.
The khatam recipients, aged 10 years and below, completed reciting 30 juzuk of Al-Quran and were presented with certificates by the guest of honour.
The objective of the event is to uphold the call of His Majesty’s titah to turn Brunei Darussalam into a Zikir Nation by implementing the culture of reading Al-Quran among Bruneians. Through this event, recognition is given to students who completed 30 Juzuk of the Al-Quran to encourage them to study the holy book.
The M3 AQSA class is a Quranic study class open to children of army and civilian personnel of the Ministry of Defence. It is held every Friday and Sunday from 8 to 10pm. The classes are held in the Ministry of Defence Bolkiah Garrison Surau, Berakas Garrison Surau, Muara Camp Surau, Tutong Camp Surau, Binturan School, Penanjong Garrison and Lumut Camp Surau.
