EDUCATION Officer from the Private Education Division, Ministry of Education, paid a visit to the new Kemuda Institute building at Unit 25, Ground Floor, Simpang 633, Jalan Beribi, Mukim Gadong. The main purpose of the visit was to ensure the quality of education policy is maintained every year at Kemuda Institute. The education officers were welcomed by Dato Paduka Haji Abd Razak bin Muhammad, Executive Chairman of Kemuda Institute, Pengiran Haji Masri bin Pengiran Haji Othman, General Manager of Kemuda Institute and Sir Andy Augustine, Academic Director of Kemuda Institute.
A TOTAL of 23 readers from all four districts participated in the finals of the Al-Quran memorisation and interpretation competition yesterday, for mukim and village consultative councils and mosque takmir committees.
The religious event was held at the Tutong Civic Centre Complex, to mark the 70th birthday celebrations of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The competition was divided into six categories. In Category ‘A’ for boys, the winner was Ahmad Huzaifah bin Haji Awang Hasbi from the Brunei-Muara District, followed by Muhammad Nur Rahim bin Abdul Sufian from Belait in second place, and Ibni Zahra’ Hijriyah bin Haji Zaini from Tutong in third place.
