THE Public Service Club went an extra mile in their ambition for the extreme with an eight kilometre kayak expedition that took place over the weekend.
In a press release, it was shared that the 16-member team began their journey from Kg Serdang towards Kg Pengkalan Sibabau in Mentiri.
The heat did not hinder the participants who paddled a total of two and a half hours that required not just physical, but also mental strength and passion to fuel their journey.
According to the organisers, the event was handled with the objective to mobilise the club with group sports and recreational activities and the expedition, in particular, has led to camaraderie among those who took part in the ambitious activity.
“The expedition also had the capability to help build confidence and endurance,” especially with a number of challenging factors such as the weather, tide and the path that they opted to take.
The expedition’s flag-off was facilitated by the Director General of Public Service, Jaini bin Haji Abdullah.
The event concluded with the handing over of certificates of participation in a ceremony, held at the club’s complex in Mentiri.
More information on the club’s activities can be found on its Facebook page and members are encouraged to take part in any of its sports and recreational gatherings.
