FOLLOWING the recent establishment of the Kampong Kapok Neighbourhood Watch Committee, the Village Head of Kg Kapok, who is also the Chairperson of the committee, Haji Marali bin Ahmad together with the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Muara Police Station last night conducted the first neighbourhood patrol on foot.
Officiating the event was Acting Superintendent of Police at the Muara Police Station, P/Inspector Nor Adiba Mohammad.
Prior to the patrol, P/Inspector Nor Adiba briefed the committee members on their roles for the night. She also said that they are looking forward to collaborating with the village residents in combating and reducing crimes in the village.
According to Haji Marali, the committee members are divided into four zones where each zone will take turn to patrol the neighbourhood. The committee is also planning to acquire a vehicle in the future for patrolling purposes. The patrol last night lasted for two hours where five suspicious groups were questioned.
Twenty members of Kampong Kapok Neighbourhood Watch Committee and 14 members of the RBPF Muara were involved in the operation.
