A 16-YEAR-old boy will learn his fate on October 8 after he pleaded guilty in the Juvenile Court to two counts of theft from shops in Seria.
Senior Magistrate Haji Nabil Daraina adjourned the proceedings to consider the sentence.
DPP Dk Nurul Pg Rosli informed in the court that the juvenile offender went to DMD Enterprise in Seria at about 3am on September 19, 2014 with a friend.
He had brought a handsaw with him, which he then used to cut open a padlock on the door to enter the shop.
Inside the shop, he then picked up a spray paint and sprayed the CCTV cameras to avoid being filmed.
Then he proceeded to steal three tablet phones, three mobile phones, three power banks, 15 pieces of Micro SD memory cards, two USB cables, one mobile phone charger, one DST sim card pack ($55), 20 pieces of $5 Easi recharge cards, 20 pieces of $10 Easi recharge cards, 40 pieces of $5 PCSB recharge cards, 10 pieces of $10 PCSB recharge cards, 11 pieces of $4 Zoom cards, 134 pieces of $8 Zoom cards, seven pieces of $20 Zoom cards, 50 pieces of $3 Budget call cards, 90 pieces of $5 Budget call cards and three pieces of Bluetooth headset.
He left the shop with the items and kept it all for himself, except for a mobile phone which he gave to his friend.
The prosecution also informed that on the second count, the juvenile offender had gone to Ya Nur Mini Mart in Lumut, Kuala Belait, on September 24, 2014 with his friend.
He entered the shop through a door which was left unlocked, and picked up a spray paint inside then sprayed the CCTV cameras inside to avoid being filmed.
He then went to the cash till and used a pair of pliers to open it up, and stole $400 worth of coins.
Before leaving, he stole several sundry items.
The juvenile then left with his friend and headed to another shop.
There, they changed the coins and split the money between themselves.
The juvenile has no previous offences recorded.
