THE Charity Car Boot Sale hosted by the Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) yesterday attracted a huge crowd. Over 45 vendors participated in the car boot sale, which was held at the Jerudong Park Country Club (JPCC) parking lot.
“We are thrilled to receive an encouraging response from members of the public today. This event is part of JPMC’s corporate social responsibility programme and an interactive and fun activity for our staff and the local community,” said Ak Danny Pg Tajuddin, coordinator of the event in his capacity as JPMC’s Marketing Officer.
He added that the car boot sale was aimed at collecting funds that will benefit the Brunei Darussalam National Association of the Blind (BDNAB).
The Sales & Business Development Manager of JPCC, Datin Sakdiah said, “We are pleased to partner with JPMC for the charity event and we are looking forward to give our support for similar events in the future.”
A variety of goods ranging from clothing items, accessories, handicrafts to sweet treats were sold at great deals. For movies and series collectors, they were pampered with the cheapest deal of 50 cents per DVD sold by one of the participating vendors. Among the vendors were Qayrina Bites, Mahmoud Rushdee Bakery, Drizzy Donuts, SML and more.
To add more fun, various activities were organised for children including face painting, colouring contest and mini games at the JPMC’s booth.
The owner of Qayrina Bites, Zhafierah Md Azznorhasmie, thanked JPMC for giving her the opportunity to participate in the charity event and felt honoured to contribute to such a good cause and at the same time, she could promote her products.
“It’s good to know that the money I spent for the activities goes to charity. I truly had a great time with my family and friends. I hope that JPMC will organise more events like this in the future,” said Huraizah Ahmad, one of the patrons who visited the charity car boot sale.
