A MASSIVE joint operation code named “Operasi Bersepadu” at the Kuala Lurah Control Post on Saturday night unearthed a number of customs and traffic offences.
The operation involved some 81 enforcement personnel from Royal Customs and Excise Department, Immigration and National Registration Department, Internal Security Department, Narcotics Control Bureau, Royal Brunei Police Force, Agriculture and Agrifood Department, Pharmacy Department and Halal Food Control Division. Among the traffic offences recorded were illegal licence plate installations and faulty headlights, while police personnel also conducted six stop and searches on vehicles crossing the border.
Among the offences that came under the Royal Customs and Excise Department are undeclared import of items like cigarettes, alcohol as well as vegetables.
The operation, which was organised as part of an ongoing effort to curb crime rates in the country, is the second such operation conducted within a week.
