A JOINT crime prevention operation between Bangar Police Station and Neighbourhood Watches of Kg Belais and Kg Buda-Buda in the Temburong District was held recently to combat criminal activities such as smuggling of contraband goods into the country.
According to a statement, the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) said the joint operation, which also involved officers from the Religious Enforcement Unit, focused in targeted neighbourhood areas of Kg Belais, Kg Buda-Buda and the vicinity of Kg Paya Bagangan.
The operation involved the patrolling of hotspot areas by the enforcement officers and members of the neighbourhood watch, roadblocks and checkpoints at the Pendaruan river.
The RBPF said the opportunity for interaction and cooperation with the public is seen as a positive move towards combating criminal activities together. “We hope this will open the minds of the community on the importance of cooperating with the authorities in safeguarding our security and harmony.”
