THE Committee of the Religious School Brunei I (JAPEMSU Brunei I), hosted a briefing on education for students with special needs at Palembayan Religious School in Kota Batu. Acting Assistant Director of Learning Institution, Ustazah Hjh Surbiah Hj Tengah attended the meeting.
Also in attendance were Head of Religious School Section, Ustazah Hjh Seniga Hj Swadi; and officers from the Department of Islamic Studies, headmasters and teachers in Brunei I.
Initiating the event was the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Headmistress of Raja Isteri Fatimah Religious School, Hjh Saifullah Hj Puteh. It was followed by a briefing by Head of Special Religious Education Unit, Ustaz Hj Sufrisofian Hj Umar.
Ustazah Hjh Surbiah called on the teachers involved with special needs students to be patient, sincere and carry out their responsibility diligently.
There was a sharing session with 100 religious school teachers under Brunei I area to disseminate the school’s responsibilities for students with special needs.
It also served as a venue for religious teachers particularly school administrators in giving suggestions to ensure the smooth operation of the Special Education Unit.
