TWENTY leading British Universities will be convening in Brunei for James Hon’s annual Study @ UK Education Exhibition. The ninth instalment of the event will be held at The Rizqun International Hotel, from 11am to 7pm on Feb 16.
“I am delighted to have an opportunity to once again serve our Bruneian student community. With the release of national exam results, it is imperative that we provide students with first hand information and provide them the knowledge to secure their future,” said Delon Hon, General Manager at James Hon Education.
“James Hon has a reputation of working with many award winning British institutions and is extremely delighted to welcome them back in Brunei. In addition to our British colleagues, we have also invited many Bruneian alumnus to speak to students and share their first hand experience of studying at their respective British universities.”
This year’s Study @ UK 2015 will feature academics and staff from 20 British institutions. Among some of the participating institutions are University of Exeter (Oxbridge of the West Country), University of Surrey (Research Powerhouse), University of Birmingham (2014 University of the Year), Queen’s University Belfast (Ireland’s finest), Keele University (No 1 for National Student Satisfaction Survey 2014) and Loughborough University (Engineering & Science’s Finest). Some of the new and technological universities which offer modern programmes will also be presented at the event. They are Northumbria University, University of Northampton, University College Birmingham, University of Sunderland (most affordable university) and Birmingham City University.
Each year, about 2,000 students sit for their ‘A’ level exams in Brunei and many of whom would have just received their results. As the students contemplate on their future, this exhibition aims to not only paint a clearer picture, but to provide certainty. ‘A’ level holders are encouraged to bring their full results and apply to a university during the event.
Those who meet the entry requirements, will receive unconditional or conditional offers from the participating universities.
Students whom are in the final year of degree studies are also encouraged to attend the event. Many of the universities are prepared to issue students with a Conditional offer during the event, subject to final results and meeting all documentation.
“What makes our exhibition really unique is the fact that almost all of the participating institutions have either Bruneian scholars or Bruneian students currently studying with them. With 20 hand picked institutions attending our fair, we have effectively done the research for the students,” Delon Hon added.
James Hon Education is a 100 per cent Bruneian- owned and operated education management company that represents about 80 institutions in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. James Hon also works very closely with many ministries within the government as well as the UK High Commission.
