HULU TERENGGANU (Bernama) – A six-month-old baby who is suffering from a hole in the heart caught the attention of Communications and Multimedia Deputy Minister Datuk Jailani Johari.
The baby, Wan Hanif Hasyraf Wan Mohd Firdaus, had to breathe with the help of a ventilator and is in urgent need of surgery.
Jailani, who is also the Hulu Terengganu member of parliament, said he would do his best to bring up the baby’s case to the National Heart Institute (IJN) and Health Ministry.
“The baby is relying 24 hours on the machine to breathe. Very pitiful to see him in such condition.
“His movements are restricted, and he is not growing like other babies,” he told reporters after visiting Wan Hanif at the family’s residence at Kampung Buluh.
Meanwhile, Wan Hanif’s mother Nurul Hidayah Juhari, 25, said her son’s surgery had initially been scheduled for Jan 14, but was postponed to make way for emergency cases.
