TEHRAN (Bernama) – Iran will host the 7th International Neurosurgery Congress, sponsored by prominent neurosurgeon Prof Majid Samii in May, Iran’s Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
About 1,500 specialists from several countries will participate in the congress.
Prof Samii, the world surgical genius, has assumed responsibility for the congress at the international level, which is expected to demonstrate and promote Iran’s neurosurgery expertise.
The 11-day meeting will provide participants with an opportunity to share information and experience.
The congress will mainly focus on promoting cooperation and exchange of information among Iranian and world scientists in the field of medical specialty related to prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders which affect any portion of the nervous system.
In collaboration with Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Iran Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the eminent Iranian neurosurgeon will organise the congress in Milad Tower, Tehran.
Known as a prominent and world-known neurosurgeon and medical scientist, Prof Samii received the World Physician award by the German northern city of Hanover.
He has been the president of the International Society for Neurosurgery and the founding president of the Congress of International Neurosurgeons.
