INTERHOUSE Company, the local sole distributor of Canon announced three PIXMA Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One printers and a single function mobile printer during a launching ceremony held at the company’s main building yesterday.
The company, through the brand Canon – a leader in digital imaging solutions, revealed its flagship PIXMA MG7570 and three other stylish yet affordable printers – the PIXMA MG6670, MG5670 and a wireless mobile printer, PIXMA iP110.
The iP110 delivers excellent print quality while maintaining portability and mobility as the slim and compact design makes it easy to slip the printer into any travelling bag. An optional rechargeable battery kit allows users to print while on the move and not worry about carrying bulky AC adaptors or power cables.
As mentioned by Steven Goh, Business Development Manager of Interhouse, the built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and Access Point Mode feature for these printers stretch the printing and scanning possibilities beyond those of conventional printers. These printers are also the first in Canon’s lineup to feature compatibility to the Mopria standard.
Printers that are compliant to the Mopria standard allow photos and document printing from Android devices within a local wireless network, similar to Apple AirPrint technology, where it allows users of Apple mobile devices to print photos and documents in a local network environment without the need to install any vendor-dependent mobile application.
For users to print documents or photos from mobile phones, tablets or wireless digital cameras, the Access Point Mode function allows direct wireless connection without the need for a wireless router.
Meanwhile, downloading the PIXMA Printing Solutions (PPS) mobile application for the iOS and Android OS platforms will also provide users with a one-stop solution for printing and scanning from mobile devices.
“Mobile printing and scanning is made even easier with support for NFC (Near Field Communication). The MG7570 and MG6670 support this new PIXMA Touch & Print feature, allowing users to print, or scan by just tapping the mobile device on the printer’s NFC sensor zone,” said Alex, an official from Interhouse, as he demonstrated the NFC printing feature.
It was also revealed that the PPS app also allows users to perform a range of printer setup and settings from the mobile device.
Users can also opt for the Cableless Setup feature which allows printer setup in a secured wireless environment, entirely from the mobile interface, and users can even check for remaining ink levels, in which ink cartridges are compatible with their printer, and even maintenance operations such as printhead alignment and cleaning.
The app also enables access to the cloud printing service, PIXMA Cloud Link, where it allows users to access and print images or documents from popular online services such as Facebook, Flickr, Dropbox, and Creative Park Premium.
The latest upgrade to the PIXMA Cloud Link service now makes it possible to scan photos and documents into cloud storage services such as OneDrive and Google Drive.
Users can even send scans straight to any e-mail address with the Scan to E-mail feature, or attach scans to e-mail drafts with the Scan to Webmail feature, so that they can edit those drafts at a later time.
The Easy-PhotoPrint+, a new web application that offers photo layout and editing functions for tablet devices, features a wide range of templates like collages, calendars, and cards to choose from, users can also import images stored on the device, or from online platforms such as Photobucket and Facebook. With a further assortment of filters, stamps and text boxes to choose from, Easy-PhotoPrint+ unleashes more creative possibilities with these PIXMA printers. The MG7570 and MG6670 come in three colors – black, white and orange, while the MG5670 is available in black and white, and the iP110 in black.
