THREE Indonesian women were sentenced to jail by the Bandar Magistrate’s Court yesterday after they pleaded guilty to overstaying in the country.
Yunani Hartati, 49, overstayed after her social visit pass expired on January 4, 2012. She was arrested during a joint agency operation at her rented home at about 2.45am on November 23 at Kg Tasek Meradun. Yunani was sentenced to five months imprisonment. Meanwhile, 36-year-old Tati Santori was sentenced to four months imprisonment for overstaying in the country after her employment pass expired on November 1, 2013.
Tati was arrested at about 3am at her rented home in Kg Bunut by the same joint agency operation team. The defendant worked as an amah previously and had run away from her employer.
Siti Rohmawati, 32, was arrested at her rented home in Kg Tasek Meradun and was holding a social visit pass which had expired on June 19, 2011. Siti was sentenced to five months’ jail.
