THE Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam organised a Ghaib prayer, Sunnat Hajat prayer and Doa ceremony on Wednesday, attended by members of the Indonesian community residing in the country. The event, which was held at the residence of the Indonesian Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, began with a mass Isyak prayer, followed by the Ghaib and Sunnat Hajat prayers, and then a Zikir recitation, said a press release.
In her short opening remarks, Ambassador Nurul Qomar stated that the mass prayers were held to pay tribute to the victims of natural disasters and calamities that have struck Indonesia throughout 2014, including the recent incident of the crash of AirAsia flight QZ8501 in the Java Sea, as well as a recent landslide in Banjarnegara, Central Java.
She also said that the prayers were intended to seek protection and safety from all calamities that may occur in years to come and to seek blessings from Allah the Almighty.
The embassy also conveyed its gratitude and appreciation to the government and people of Brunei as well as members of the diplomatic community in the Sultanate for their support and sympathy.
