Sports School double champions

SPORTS School were champions in both Category B and C of the Inter-School Takraw Championship organised by Education Co-Curriculum Department hosted by Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School at the Multi-Purpose of the Brunei Darussalam Sports School in Pulaie yesterday.

In the finals of both categories, Sports School defeated Sultan Hasan Secondary School. In Category B (under-15), Sports School won 3-2 while in Category C (under-17), Sports School won 3-1.

Mohd Khairul Fadzli bin Meyasin was named Best Player of Category B while Mohd Alifuddin bin Jamaluddin was thed Best Player of Category C, both from Sports School.

Dayang Hjh Safiah binti Pengarah Hj Buntar, Principal of Sayyidina Umar Al-Khattab Secondary School presented the prizes to the winners.

The tournament is an annual project by the Sports and Games Section, Education Co-Curriculum Department to enhance the level of students’ discipline and to reduce social problems amongst the students.

It was also to select talented athletes to represent Brunei Darussalam for the Asean Schools Games (ASG).
