JASTRe cleans beach in KB
In its pursuit to protect and conserve cleanliness of Brunei Darussalam’s beaches, the Ministry of Development through the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe) has continued its operations to clean and pick-up the litters along the Kuala Belait beach yesterday.
Plastic bottles and plastic bags washed up and left lying around on the Kuala Belait beach, not only posed as an eyesore to the public at large and the frequent beach-goers, but also as an environmental concern.
This cleaning up effort is one of the strategies to maintain our pristine beaches and add recreational value to attract more beach-goers to enjoy the natural beauty available in the Sultanate.
It is hoped that the public will be able to appreciate and help in this effort to keep our beaches clean by doing their part of not littering indiscriminately on the beaches.
The department will continue to undertake beach cleaning-up campaigns to heighten the public environmental awareness and promote the effort of keeping the beach clean accross the country.
