Govt servants reminded not to abuse school allowance privileges

Government servants who are given allowances to pay for their children’s education at private schools were reminded not to abuse such privileges, Imams said in the nationwide Friday sermon yesterday.
Such allowances should be used wisely and not be used for other personal purposes, the Imams cautioned, adding that this was something that should not happen, as paying school fees is a trust that must be fulfilled.
On the importance of attaining knowledge, Imams said Muslims should not simply pass examinations but also purify their hearts from bad attitudes like being arrogant, jealous, impatient, bad-tempered and so on.
Muslims should also stay focussed when studying, and to respect and be open to teachers’ advice, the Imams advised.
Among other things, the religious leaders stressed on the importance of ensuring that the food one consumes is clean and Halal, and that they should always avoid dubious products.
