Chris Cooper joins ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’

CHRIS Cooper has joined the cast of ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’.

The ‘American Beauty’ actor is set to star alongside Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone – who will reprise their roles as Peter Parker/Spider Man and Gwen Stacy – as villain Norman Osborn and his alter-ego the Green Goblin, originally played Willem Dafoe in Sam Raimi’s 2002 film ‘Spider-Man’.

Other new additions to the feature are Jamie Foxx and Paul Giamatti as baddies Electro and Rhino, Shailene Woodley as flame-haired beauty Mary-Jane Watson – originally played by Kirsten Dunst opposite Tobey Maguire from 2002 to 2007 – and Dan DeHaan as Peter’s troubled friend and Norman Osborn’s son Harry.

Oscar-winning actress Sally Field and Martin Sheen will reprise their roles Peter Parker’s elderly Aunt May and Uncle Ben.

Marc Webb will return to direct, with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing. BANG!
