NEBARA launches new archery centre

BRUNEI DARUSSALAM Archery Association (NEBARA) made themselves known publicly yesterday at the launching of their new archery centre at Jerudong Sports Complex.
The Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Datin Paduka Hjh Adina binti Othman was the guest of honour.

The soft launching of the new centre commenced with a welcoming speech from the Senior Vice President of NEBARA, Pg Haji Ali Hassan bin Pg Dato Haji Abas.
In his speech, Pg Haji Ali Hassan briefly explained the history of the establishment of NEBARA and its journey.
He emphasised on the importance of archery as a sport activity that has the potential to win medals in international tournaments.
He also hopes that with the availability of the permanent venue as well as support from the government through the Youth and Sports Department under the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, NEBARA will look towards generating skilled archers to participate in international tournaments in the future.
The guest of honour then officiated the soft launch by striking a gong prior to touring the archery exhibition organised by the association.
Datin Paduka Hjh Adina and other invited guests then proceeded to the outdoor archery shooting range to have their first archery try-outs.
Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Pahlawan Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Hj Md Ja’far bin Hj Abdul Aziz, President of NEBARA; Awang Haji Ismail bin Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Haji Hashim, Deputy Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Abd Raham bin Jai, the owner of BJ Archery.
