Takaful scheme for religious enforcement officers

A MEMORANDUM of Agreement (MoA) was signed between the Syariah Affairs Department and Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd at the Conference Hall, Islamic Dakwah Centre in Berakas yesterday.

The guest of honour was Ustaz Hj Harun bin Hj Junid, Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Signing on behalf of the Syariah Affairs Department was Hjh Zakiah binti Hj Taib, Acting Director of Syariah Affairs Department, witnessed by Awg Hj Zulkifli bin Panglima Asgar Dato Paduka Hj Abdullah, Director of Administration at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd was represented by Hj Osman bin Hj Md Jair, the Managing Director and witnessed by Dyg Hjh Suzana binti Hj Mirasan, the Assistant General Manager.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Hjh Zakiah binti Hj Taib delivered her welcoming address. According to her, the Takaful scheme is granted for a total of 117 religious enforcement officers, designed to ensure that their welfare is looked after if they had an accident or suffered an injury in the course of their risky duties.

A speech was also delivered by Hj Osman bin Hj Md Jair, the Managing Director of Insurans Islam TAIB.

“After understanding the operational risks faced by law enforcement in the Syariah Affairs Department, Insurance Islam TAIB specially created a product named Group Takaful Plan for the law enforcers. The Group Takaful Plan is also to cover the personnel in the Syariah Affairs Department on their health risks,” Awg Hj Osman said.

Also in attendance were the Directors, Board of Directors of Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd, Officers and Heads of Enforcement from the Syariah Affairs Department, Officers of Perbadanan TAIB, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd and Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd.
