DIE-CAST models or toys of popular vehicles, especially cars from all over the world, have been popular collector’s items for people of all ages – Bruneians included.
Brunei Hotwheels Group yesterday organised a gathering for collectors to display their collection, as well as for sellers to satisfy the cravings of people looking for a particular type of die-cast Hotwheels vehicle. It was held at the Seameo Voctech in Gadong.
According to one of the committee members, the event was organised to allow the group members and the public to view and display collections, as well as to foster closer relationships as some of the members were total strangers until they met thanks to their mutual passion.
A customised Volkswagen donning a portrait of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam on the vehicle in conjunction with the 29th National Day celebration recently, was also displayed at the event.
The event also saw a Hotwheels drag race competition for the participants and other members of the public.
