Indonesian delegation visits MPK Kapok

The Kampong Kapok Village Consultative Council (MPK Kapok) yesterday received visitors from the Ministry of Kominfo and Community Information Group from Indonesia.
Led by Drs Selamatta, the group was greeted upon arrival at the residence of the Village Head of Kampong Kapok, Haji Awang Marali Haji Ahmad, who then gave a slide presentation on the village’s activities, population census, economics and associations within the council.
After the presentation, the visitors were invited to watch several performances organised by the council and its youth association.

A gulintangan performance was followed by two traditional dances and singing.
The village head also brought the delegates to tour the exhibition hall which displayed pictures and articles of the village’s activities.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Bureau of the council demonstrated the making of banana crackers or ‘keripik pisang’, which served as one of the village’s product for the ‘One Village One Product’ project.
Speaking to the media, the village head expressed his hopes that the visit will benefit both parties in terms of useful and practical information.
These visits, which will last for five days, are aimed at increasing the collaborative relationship between Brunei and Indonesia in the field of information.
