HIS Royal Highness Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Muntaqim Ibni Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah participated in a silat performance yesterday at the closing ceremony of the National Pencak Silat Championship , which was held at the Multipurpose Hall of the Tutong Sports Complex.

Also present to witness the closing ceremony was Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.

Present to officiate the closing ceremony of the National Pencak Silat Championship was the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Hj Hazair bin Haji Abdullah.

In the first of two finas to be contested yesterday, Tutong’s Mohd Azril bin Mohd Ali beat Ak Mohd Saiful Azwan bin Pg Iskandar 5-0 in Class B.

Meanwhile, in Class D final, Muhammad At-Tarmimi bin Hamid of Sarawak beat Brunei-Muara’s Mohd Zulfauzi bin Zainidi 5-0.

Tutong emerged as the champions of the National Pencak Silat Championship with a total of 17 medals; six gold medals, eight silver medals and three bronze medals.

Brunei-Muara finished in second with three gold medals, four silver medals and five bronze medals, whilst the Schools’ Sports Council completed the top three with a record of three gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals.
