In an effort to enhance cultural ties and interaction between Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and Yala Islamic University (YIA) in Southern Thailand, some 14 students from the International Language Academy (ILA) of YIA have completed a one-month exchange student programme between the two institutions.

The group, which is the third batch since 2011, recently attended a farewell gathering for what appeared to be their final experience in the Sultanate, together with members from the Sawaddee Club (Thai Language and Culture Club UBD) members at the Berakas Forest Reserve.
To be eligible for the programme, participants have to obtain an English Programme Level 3 Certificate at the International Language Academy.
The group completed a course entitled Global Discovery Programme: Intensive English Course under Continuing Education Centre, UBD.
The course was a part of an initiative from ILA to provide opportunities for students to study and experience overseas study while waiting for their degree registration in June.
