Chinese Ambassador welcomes royalty at CNY open house

HER Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, graced the Chinese New Year (CNY) open house hosted by the Chinese Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Mr Zheng Xianglin.

Accompanying Her Royal Highness at the ambassador’s residence was YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

Other guests in attendance included former and current cabinet ministers, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps and leaders of the local Chinese community as well as prominent business figures.

According to Wang Tian Xiang, the ambassador’s secretary, the open house was hosted to welcome the Year of the Snake and share the joyous celebration with friends and family.

In terms of the embassy’s forecast this year, he said that the embassy hopes to see further development in the relationships between China and Brunei and with the economic trade volume exceeding 1.6 billion, the embassy’s priority is to further strengthen bilateral relations.
