Man pleads guilty for theft

A 35-YEAR-OLD local man was sentenced to four months jail by the Magistrate’s Court in the capital yesterday after he pleaded guilty to stealing several valuables from homes.

Haji Shahrul Alim bin Haji Sulaiman admitted before Senior Magistrate Lailatul Zubaidah Hussain that he stole a laptop and a gold necklace with an engraved locket from a house in Kg Lupak Luas on July 26, 2009, during wee hours.

The defendant also stole a gold ring, a mobile phone and a handbag containing $300 from another house in Kg Lupak Luas on September 12, 2009, also during the early hours.

Police investigations revealed the defendant’s crimes following reports by the home owners.
