Acting Director of Mosque Affairs holds dialogue with mosque officers and staff

GRIEVANCES faced by the mosque officers and staff in their efforts to further improve the administrative structure of mosques were touched yesterday at a dialogue session at Kg Lumapas Mosque with the Acting Director of Mosque Affairs at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Ustaz Hj Abdul Rajid bin Hj Mohd Salleh. It was his first meeting with mosque officers and staff after he was transferred to the Mosque Affairs Department beginning January 2.

The dialogue session was aimed at fostering closer ties with mosque officers and staff, to enhance the credibility of mosque officers in administering a mosque, to further enhance the role and task of a religious leader, to produce excellent, dynamic and quality officers and staff, to exchange ideas and seek better ways to glorify mosque, to scrutinise problems faced while carrying out their duties and to enhance commitment between the department’s officers with mosque staff.
The Acting Director would also pay visits to mosques throughout the country in accordance to the respective zones after the dialogue, especially to look at each mosque’s administration, and financial matters, building and implementation of mosque activities.
Also present were the Acting Assistant of Mosque Affairs Department, Awg Hj Amir Hisham bin Hj Masri, Heads of Division, officers and staff from the department and Zone 1 of the Brunei-Muara District.
Ustaz Hj Abdul Rajid later visited Panchor Murai Mosque in the Brunei-Muara District.
The dialogue will continue on February 16 with a visit to Utama Mohd Salleh Mosque in Bangar, Temburong.
