Fitness seminar for coaches, PE teachers

AN OFFICIAL opening ceremony for the ‘Fitness Seminar’ conducted by Milo F Bryant, a Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Fitness Expert, in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports was held yesterday at the Indoor Stadium, Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex, Berakas.
The guest of honour who officiated the ceremony was Haji Rosmadee bin Hj Md Daud, the Acting Deputy Director I at the Department of Youth and Sports.
The four-day seminar will be held until February 15.

It involves a total of 95 participants comprising coaches, members of National Sports Associations, as well as Physical Education (PE) teachers.
The seminar aims to increase the level of knowledge on the needed level of fitness for every elite athlete and the procedures to operate tests to identify the weaknesses of athletes because if any weakness is identified, it can lead to injury and a decrease in the elite athlete’s performance.
In addition, the seminar will be discussing a number of matters, such as Functional Movement Skills: Locomotion and Movement Skills; Fundamental Fitness Proficiencies; General Fitness and Athletic Assessment; Assessment of Running & Jumping Sports; Assessment of Throwing and Striking Sports; Assessment of Acrobatic & Combative Sports; Assessment of Neuromusculoskeletal Dexterity (NMSD) Sports; and Juniors.
