Chinese-owned shops closed for festivities

DOZENS of Chinese-owned shops were closed for business on the second day of Chinese New Year yesterday, many of which, particularly in the Gadong area, carried notices on their front door informing customers they were shut for the festivities.

At department stores and shopping malls, it was, however, business as usual.

Meanwhile, the NBT Toyota showroom in Gadong has seen an endless trickle of visitors who turn up for photo opportunities beside the beautifully-decorated Chinese New Year decorations.
