Charity activities to raise funds for Kg Ayer fire victims

THE Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam through the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and Ministry of Home Affairs will hold charity activities to collect funds to lessen the burden of recent fire victims of Kg Setia ‘A’ in Kampung Ayer.

Among the activities include creating awareness on fire prevention and to instil an attitude of helping the needy by contributing financially as well as carry out recreational activities.

Among the activities are, Zumba session on February 16 at 8pm at the National Indoor Stadium, charity golf tournament from March 1 to March 3 at the Mentiri Golf Club, bicycle expedition and charity run on March 2 at 8pm at Dermaga Diraja BSB in the capital.

The fee for Zumba is $10 but no t-shirts will be given and tickets will be available starting February 7. For the bicycle and charity run, the fee is $20 for each category and t-shirts will be provided and the deadline is on February 18. For the charity golf tournament, the fee is $80 for members and $100 for non-members.

Entry forms for the charity golf tournament are available at the Youth and Sports Department (JBS) headquarters and its branches in the four districts as well as at the Mentiri Golf Club. Whilst the Zumba, bicycle and charity run, entry forms are obtainable at JBS headquarters and its branches as well as the Brunei-Muara District Office.

There will also be lucky draws and exhibitions from government agencies especially by the Fire and Rescue Department on fire prevention.
