Audi makes a successful start to 2013

FOLLOWING its record-breaking year of 2012, AUDI AG has posted a successful start to 2013 with January, the company sold around 111,750 automobiles worldwide, which marks an increase of 16.3 per cent and testimony to clear growth in all regions of the world.

According to a press release, the successful midsize model lines A4 and Q5 made a substantial contribution to this growth with deliveries rose strongly in China at 38.5 per cent, USA at 7.5 per cent and Europe at 8.6 per cent and January deliveries topped the figures from the prior-year month.

The global sales figures for the Audi midsize model lines A4, A5 and Q5 posted strong growth of around 50,800 units, an increase of 24.6 per cent.

The Ingolstadt-based carmaker’s sales figures for last month also exceeded January 2012 deliveries in the United States, thus making it the most successful start to the year in Audi’s US history with Audi increasing its sales by 7.5 per cent to 10,056 units. Its midsize models also proved successful in the US with sales increasing by around 13.6 per cent year-on-year overall, Mexico, sales up 48.6 per cent and Brazil, sales up 25.0 per cent, posted other significant growth rates in the America sales region in January.
