Minister officiates launch of new paintball arena

THE soft launching of the paintball arena with the 3rd Year Pilot Project of the National Service Programme (PKBN) was officiated yesterday morning by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awg Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah.
Also attending the launch were the Deputy Minister of MCYS, Datin Paduka Hajah Adina binti Othman; Permanent Secretaries, of MCYS Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Hamid bin Hj Mohd Jaafar and Hj Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos; Deputy Permanent Secretary from the ministry, Hj Ismail bin Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Setia Dato Paduka Hj Hashim; the National Service Programme Pilot Project Commandant, Major (Rtd) Mohammad bin Dollah; the CEO of Royal Brunei Technical Services (RBTS), Hjh Rosmawati binti Hj Manaf; as well as senior officers and staff of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, RBTS, National Service Programme and Dream Factory.
The ceremony began with an opening speech by Pg Sarpuddin bin Pg Hj Kamaluddin, Manager, Occupational Health and Safety Unit, RBTS.
He gave a briefing on the paintball sport in Brunei, and said that RBTS believes the sport will get a good response and have a positive impact on the community, especially among the youths.
RBTS will also strive to ensure that the paintball arena is always safe for use.
The arena is located at the Jerudong Sports Complex in Jerudong and is managed by RBTS.
The paintball equipment, safety and marshals are managed by Dream Factory.
