The donation presentation ceremony took place at the Brunei-Muara District Office and the donation was received by Brunei-Muara District Officer, Awg Haji Jamain bin Momin.
The donation aimed to help lessen the burden faced by the recent fire victims in Kampong Setia ‘A’, Mukim Sungai Kebun, which happened on January 26. A total of 16 generous donors comprising the Indian business community in the Brunei-Muara District – led by the President of the Indian Chamber of Commerce, Awg Nazeer Ahmad Zackiriah of Nazmi Textile Mall – came forward in response to the call for reducing the burden of the victims, which is also part of their social and corporate responsibility.
Brunei-Muara District Officer, Awg Haji Jamain on behalf of the victims expressed his appreciation and thanks to all the generous donors. Some 10 families were affected during the recent fire.
He hopes the donation would help the victims to purchase their daily necessities in their efforts to rebuild their new life.
