Father of 5 admits to 6 rape charges & pleads for leniency

A LOCAL man yesterday pleaded guilty to six charges of rape, outraging modesty and having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter and niece. The High Court yesterday fixed February 28, 2013 for the prosecution to furnish the court with case laws for sentencing purposes.

The defendant mitigated before Justice Dato Paduka Steven Chong yesterday pleading for leniency and to take into account that he has five young children and that he is remorseful.

He also asked for pardon so he has a chance to repent and start a new life.

The defendant asked forgiveness from his daughter and niece whom he had victimised.

The offences were committed in 2009, 2010 and 2012.

The defendant was ordered to wait in remand pending the next mention of the case. DPPs Pg Suzana Pg Hj Abas and Pg Hjh Hana Pg Hj Mohammad prosecuted the case.
