Hanif wins second round of Brunei meme competition

A MEME submitted by Hanif Morsidi on a local beverage called ‘Teh C Special’ has won the second round of the Brunei’s inaugural meme competition with 130 ‘likes’ on the social networking site Facebook, earning himself a cash prize and a certificate of participation for his effort.

The first round winner, Eng Chen earned 400 likes for his Nasi Katok meme.

Meme characters, expressions, quotes and phrases have become increasingly popular with the tech-savvy younger generation since last year, which was popularised by humour website 9gag.com.
