General Manager of Brunei Press, Reggie See said the event was made possible with TelBru giving Brunei Press the opportunity to work with them for the publication of a premium Coffee Table book on Brunei.

He said, “The contest is launched today as there are partners and sponsors like Interhouse Canon, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), Orchid Garden Hotel & Crystal Time Columbia.”

“Thank you partners and sponsors for coming forward to support the ‘Brunei through My Lens’ photographic contest.”

The Coffee Table Book which will be used as a premium corporate gift by TelBru, will feature Brunei in pictures and bring readers on a journey from the past to present day.

The photographic contest is organised to select potential photographs for publication in the premium book.

The contest is open to the public and all residents in Brunei Darussalam.

Following a brief remark, Deputy General Manager, Hazizah Osman delivered a presentation on the contest.

Also present at the launching were CEO of TelBru, David Kay as well as senior officers and representatives from the partners and sponsors.

Victor Goh of Interhouse Company, who was among those present yesterday, noted that the contest is a very good and interesting competition as Brunei will be hosting the Asean Summit this year. The book will give visitors a glimpse into the rich culture, flora and fauna that the country has to offer.

“We are proud and honoured to be part of the contest, as Canon, being a major manufacturer in the world and Canon Brunei actually promotes photography as a healthy hobby.”

With the objective to involve the community in this premium publication on Brunei through photo submissions, the contest seeks creative and original photographic submissions featuring the history of Brunei, its people, places, Brunei today and Brunei’s Vision 2035.

The contest encourages creativity and gives photographers as well as budding photographers an opportunity to showcase their works.

Selected entries will win attractive cash prizes from BIBD, KNK packages from Brunei Tourism, Columbia Adventure watches from Crystal Time, Canon cameras and printers from Interhouse Company as well as dining vouchers from Orchid Garden Hotel bringing the total to more than $20,000 worth of prizes.

Contest details and entry forms will be published in the Borneo Bulletin and Media Permata starting Friday, February 8 and submissions can be personally handed over to Brunei Press offices in Beribi, Gadong and Seria or via online at www.telbru.com.bn/bruneithroughmylens.

The closing date of the contest is March 11, 2013. Further information is available by calling Marketing Executive Fatin at 8338360 or email marketing@bruneipress.com.bn.
