The value of Brunei Industrial Development Authority (BINA) continuous support to the local small and medium enterprises such as SMES Sdn Bhd in promoting the development of local businesses, especially those involved in developing the oil and gas industry, is invaluable.

This was said by Awg Yusof bin Hj Othman, the Managing Director of SMES in his welcoming address held recently at the official opening ceremony of the new SMES building located at Lot 35-36, Tapak Perindustrian BINA, Jalan Setia Diraja in Belait. Present as the guest of honour and to officiate the opening of the new building was Awg Hj Azhar bin Hj Yahya, Permanent Secretary at the Energy Department, Prime Minister’s Office.

Awg Yusof also added that SMES will also work to support and uphold the Energy Department at the Prime Minister’s Office in the Local Business Development Programme (LBD) Instructions 1 and 2 which acts as a driving force for the success of Bruneians in the industry.

The event also saw a plaque signing ceremony by the guest of honour, as well as donations presented to several charitable organisations in the Belait District including the Belait District Charity Fund, the Community Development Department Kuala Belait, Old Folks Residential Home, Pusat Ehsan and others.
