Gaza and Bhopa charity drive on at the Serasa Sport complex

MEMBERS of the public can pitch in to help victims of the recent Bopha tropical storm in the Philippines and also alleviate the suffering in Gaza, Palestine by visiting the ‘Charity Drive – Bhopa & Gaza’, hosted by National Youth Volunteers and CARE at the Serasa Sport complex.

Assistant chairperson of National Youth Volunteers Awg Mohd Nasir bin Hj Pungut said, “The aim of the project is to raise funds for the humanitarian fund for Gaza and also the humanitarian fund for Bopha. It also serves to instil the spirit of volunteerism and helping each other in the face of disaster.”

During the event, members of the public can take part in kayaking, flying fox, face painting, take a tour of the reptile exhibition as well as get a portrait painted at Nabil Art corner.

Tonight, National Youth Volunteers and CARE has organised a Zumba fitness event at the Youth Centre in the capital.

Awg Mohd Nasir said, “We expect 250 people to turn up for the Zumba but we received some 280 entries, which was overwhelming.”

He also thanked the public for the support in raising funds for the humanitarian fund for Gaza and also the humanitarian fund for Bopha.
