The hill (Bukit Tempayan Pisang) and the caves in the area are a source of interesting folktales, which he said, could be researched and highlighted to tourists.

According to local legend, Bukit Tempayan Pisang derived its name from a battle over stones, which were said to have “magical” powers between mythical figures – Bunian princesses and the Guardian of Mount Kinabalu.

While the two caves – Radat Cave and Harimau Cave – located at the top of the hill are associated with equally interesting stories.
