THE High Commissioner of Canada to Brunei Darussalam, Marcel Gaumond, yesterday encouraged Bruneians to study in Canada and enjoy outstanding academic experiences.

At a dinner to welcome represen-tatives of Canadian universities taking part in a Canadian education fair at the Rizqun International Hotel last night, he said, through the Wawasan Brunei 2035 directive, the Brunei Government continues to emphasise the develop-ment of an educated, highly-skilled, creative and accomplished population who will power and drive the future of the nation.
He said the Government of Canada understands what the education entails in the vision and that Canada will continue to facilitate its Bruneian counterparts in achieving this vision.
He expressed his appreciation to the representatives of the four Canadian universities participating in the education fair, namely, the University of British Columbia, Emily Carr University of Art & Design, University of Prince Edward Island and Carleton University.
The guest of honour at the welcoming dinner was Awg Hj Suhaila bin Hj Abdul Karim, Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education.
