Local businessman receives ‘Top 10 Excellent Enterprises Entering China’ award

LOCAL Chinese businessman, Ang Swee Chuan was among the recipients of the ‘Top 10 Excellent Enterprises Entering China’ in a ceremony held in Beijing, China recently.

Ang who is the Director of Nanning Brunei China Housing Development Company and the vice president of Brunei China Friendship Association was honoured to receive the award.

More than 250 officials from the Asean embassies in China attended the ceremony. The Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade was among the officials who spoke at the event.

Top ten Chinese enterprises in the Asean markets and top ten Asean enterprises in the Chinese markets were honoured in the ceremony, including the China Union Pay Singapore Office and the Singapore Keppel Land China. Another ten excellent entrepreneurs from China and Asean countries were also awarded

According to a report by CNTV.CN, trade between China and Asean has become increasingly robust. The two sides established a framework agreement on comprehensive economic cooperation more than ten years ago, and set up a free trade area in 2010. China now has become Asean’s biggest trade partner. Asean countries have also become target markets attracting Chinese enterprises.

The award ceremony was held to recognise the great contributions made by excellent enterprises both from China and Asean countries.
