Batu Marang Primary School opens mobile library

IN COLLABORATION with the Language and Literature Bureau, the Batu Marang Primary School has become the 35th primary school to establish a new mobile library for its students.
The staff and students of Batu Marang Primary School welcomed Muhd Azwan bin Abdullah Lai, in his capacity as the guest of honour, with a traditional drum performance.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was then held to officially open the mobile library, followed by a tour around the library.
The Principal of the school, Hjh Noraini bte Hj Timbang then presented her speech.
The audience were then treated to a reading by a blind Year Six student, Eddy Iswandy Ismail bin Imran, who utilised the Braille system for this purpose. His short story reading was conducted very well and received a loud applause by the audience.
A short drama entitled ‘Anak Durhaka’ – a traditional Brunei folk tale – was performed by selected upper and lower primary students to further enliven the event.
