The objective of the trip is for the students to experience and explore a new dimension in art education and to enhance lifelong skills like innovation, creativeness, perception and evaluation.
The Bruneian students will be visiting various prestigious art exhibition like ‘Art Stage Singapore’, ‘The Art of the Brick by Nahtan Sagawa’, ‘Outside In’ Photography exhibition’ architectural landmarks such as art science museum at Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay, Helix Bridge and the Esplande.
In addition, the students will also be attending an art workshop by Astrid Dahl and playing with patterns at the art science museum.
Art education is vital for students in Brunei Darussalam as an avenue for safe expression, exploration, imagination, communication and cultural as well as historical understanding.
Therefore the Art and Design Department of Meragang Sixth Form Centre is frequently finding ways to improve its art education by involving students in activities through organising art exhibitions, field trips and encouraging students to participate in art expos.
