MUIB presents donations to fire and storm victims

TWENTY-NINE victims of recent fires and storms in Kg Kapok and Kg Sungai Hanching in the Brunei-Muara District as well as Kg Bukit Sibut and Kg Pengkalan Mau in the Tutong District received financial assistance and school stationery from the Brunei Islamic Religious Council (MUIB), Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) yesterday.

Handing over the donations totalling $5,900 to the victims at the ministry’s building was the Secretary of MUIB, Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Haji Sapar.

Awang Haji Abdul Wahab said the donations came from the pool of ‘Zakat’ money collected by the Zakat Collection and Distribution Unit of MUIB, as a way to lessen the burden of the affected individuals and their families.

MUIB shows great concern for the welfare of disaster-stricken families, especially those affected by natural disasters.
